How to plant strawberry crowns
The correct planting depth is the single most important factor in strawberry establishment. Set the crown — the compact central stem from which leaves emerge — at exactly soil level.

June-bearing strawberries send runners — horizontal stems with daughter plants at the tip. In the first year, managing runners determines how quickly your bed fills in.
